Note: I left my digicam back at home if FW, so there are no actual photographs right now. Luckily I still have my super-realistic camera inside my head that my masterful hands can accurately put down in a drawing better than any 1000 megapixel digicam could. So enjoy this photo album of Spring Break 2005!
Hello you all! I bet you’ve been wondering why there have been no posts in a ridiculous amount of time. Well, it all began a few weeks ago, when I became ridiculously busy with classes, finals, and the opera (Die Fledermaus). In fact, I was so busy, and so without sleep, that I went insane!

I went so crazy that I decided that I should take a week off. Luckily my week off coincided with SPRING BREAK! Woot! So once I was all finished with finals and whatnot, I hopped on the amtrak train from Bellingham to Tacoma. Note: although this picture shows me waving a hanky to my true love out the window of the train, you can’t actually do that because the windows on the amtrak don’t open.)

I slept on the ride home, and then I slept when I got home. In fact, I spent the next three days doing pretty much nothing but sleep as I recovered from the opera and finals week.

There was a little bit of excitement at home though, because on Sunday night there was a wild wind storm that knocked out the power to my block for a good many hours. We spent the time playing games by candlelight.

And if that wasn’t enough game night fun, the next night I went over to Jessica’s place and had a fun time playing family game night games over there for a while.

After that it was bedtime, and I slept through that night and when I woke up in the morning it was time to hop on the airplane to Los Angeles!

Note: although this picture shows me waving a hanky to my true love out the window, you can’t actually do that on an airplane either, because they don’t let you open windows on there, same as on the train. What’s the deal? The hanky industry must do something or there will be no reason to own a hanky at all anymore.

When I got there I thought I would be welcomed to the sunny skies of Southern California - but no! It was pouring buckets of rain down on my head - and I couldn’t go inside because I couldn’t get ahold of Josh, Collin or Rachel, the three people that would have been able to let me into the apartment.

Eventually Collin arrived to save the day, tho, and he showed me around the Swinging Bachelor Pad:

Once I got myself arranged in there, I took Josh’s tiny broken umbrella and walked to class. Unfortunately his tiny broken umbrella was no match for the torrential rain falling on me.

So rather than continue to become soaked, I went to the USC bookstore and bought a $25 umbrella. I knew it was a rip-off, but I figured that it would be worth it if it continued pouring like it was. And then, as soon as I stepped out of the bookstore and opened up the umbrella, the pouring rain became a light drizzle.

That day and the next day I enjoyed going back to my old haunts, and even was a guest star on my old TV show, "Platforum!" I had forgotten how dull it was. If I could have spoken directly to the audience, I would have told them to change the channel, that’s how dull it was. But at least the viewers got to look at my hotness one last time on the TV.

After being on Platforum, I met Eddie Padilla for dinner at the Used-To-Be Grinder Restaurant, now called the Eat Street Grill. The food was exactly the same as it was before, tho - the only change was the new name, and the lighting was dimmer because dim = fancy!

the next day there was some excitement as I got to sit in on a class taught by Tony Award Winning composer Jason Robert Brown. That was pretty sweet. In other Hollywood bits, I saw a bunch of Universal Studios trailers and stuff out by the California Science Center when I went over there, but I didn’t find out what they were filming.

In addition to all the fancy hollywood aspects of USC, I was reminded of how really disgusting the place is too. I went shopping at the 32nd street market (where I used to do all of my grocery shopping), and could hardly believe I could have standed to shop there. It really is more of a dumpster than a grocery store. I’m a fan of dumpster diving, but not when you have to pay expensive prices for the stuff you pull out of there. But the music was still good.

That night I saw a run-through of Anything Goes (minus costumes, lights, painted set, etc). It was a rough run with some stops and starts, but I think it’ll turn out to be a pretty awesome show. So if you’re in LA next weekend or the next, go see it.

After that it was party time back at the downstairs apartment, watching the Ed Wood movies, and good times for all.

After that it was back upstairs for afterwards party where I was the only person not smoking the wacky weed. It’s rather ridiculous how much some people (whose names have been changed in the cartoon to protect the innocent) even in just one more semester at USC.

The next day was Big Excitement as a few folks hopped over to Six Flags Magic Mountain for three hours of Roller Coaster Excitement… or rather, Standing in Line for Roller Coaster Excitement. Since we were only there for 3 hours, we did not have enough time to actually wait through an entire line to go on a ride. But the good news is that I got a year pass so that this summer I can go to Wild Waves whenever I want.

After Six Flags, it was off to Hollywood to see a concert by They Might Be Giants! Woot! Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet them after the show because there was a huge line of people wanting to do the same thing. But at least I can say I’ve seen then perform live now.

The next day was more relaxing, with a bunch of walking around USC and having lunch with a bunch of old theater friends, and that evening going to see an original play called "Masterpieces." It was a good play, but after that was the real party time of the night: the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Here is my nifty costume that I bought earlier in the day (and combined with the tux that I had brought from home)

I went with Melanie and one of her friends who was too cool to dress up in women’s clothing. Boo to him. Good news once we got there was that they have a policy that if you’re dressed outrageously enough they’ll sneak you in before everyone else, so I was able to get in before pretty much everyone, and I was able to save seats in the third row.

That way we had a nice view of the special guest stars: the playboy bunnies! They were in the cast playing "Trixie," as well as filling in for some inanimate objects (such as the holding the weights that Rocky grabs and stuff). The bunnies were quite a hotness - they did much sexy moves and a bit of kissing one another, but they all kept their clothing on (well, as much clothing as the playboy bunnies wear).

I had been planning on seeing Timoney after the movie, and then perhaps going to a big theater party after seeing Timoney, but the movie that I thought started at midnight actually didn’t start till after 1am, so I didn’t get back to campus till after 3:30, at which point Timoney was asleep and I guess the theater party was over. That was the bad part about the night, but it was still a pretty great evening. After I got back to the apartment, I was going to sleep, but then realized that my cell phone battery was almost dead, and I was afraid it would die before the alarm went off waking me up, so instead I read some of Collin’s Maxim’s and Josh’s Love is Hell book, and then went to breakfast at Denny’s with Josh, and then it was back to the airport for the flight home.

After all of that no sleep, when I got on the plane I fell right asleep - so fast that I didn’t even have time to wave a hanky to my true love out the window. And that night I slept for a good long time, and last night I slept for a good long time, and today it was the first day of class.

So now I’m back at school and the spring quarter is underway, and I have the feeling that this will be the crowning quarter of the year. Sweeeeeet.
