It all began when my sis asked me to take her to Edmonds…
At first I didn’t think I wanted to, but then changed my mind because I don’t
make it up there very often, and it seemed like it orta be fun.
So we hopped in the car after lunch today - IHOP, which did not do anything
to get rid of the sully on its name - and drove north.
First stop was the ice-skating rink where my sis was meeting her gaggle of
friends for an ice-skating party, even though it was a very bright, sunny and
warm July afternoon.
Once she was with her pallies, it was me off for some adventure. Since it was
a warm sunny day in July, I headed to the beach and enjoyed the sun, sand, and
surf (although not the surf quite so much because there was a ridiculous amount
of green floating-ness in it, and I didn’t feel the need to run barefoot through
it).
I parked my car at the marina by the ferry terminal, and spent a little while
watching the people fish as I tried to get ahold of people whose phone numbers
I have from Edmonds - a very short list. If you’re in the Edmonds area and I
didn’t call you, give me your phone number, because the list in my cell phone
is very lacking.
After the waterfront, it was into Historic Downtown Edmonds. Unfortunately
most of the stores were closed for the 4th of July.
But I did have fun walking along the Historic Streets of Historic Edmonds and
looking at the Historic Buildings.
A little while later I met up with Annie, who was my best friend in early elementary
school. She’s much older now, and says california phrases such as "Yay-uh."
We went to a Tully’s in on of the Historic Buildings and got caught up on what
all had happened during the past 15 years or so and what we’re up to now and
what we’ll be up to in the future. It was a nice time.
After Tully’s Annie left to meet some people that were staying over at her
place, so I walked around Edmonds some more, and then got the car again and
drove all around my old Home Town. I drove past my old house, which was very
frightening for some reason. The whole block was, actually - even though it
was sunny and bright and warm and happy all over, everything on my old street
was shadowy and frightening. And my old house looked run down and it had a giant
fence in front of it. I drove by my old school, and it looked the same, and
I went past old stores I used to go to (and went to Value Village, but didn’t
find anything exciting), and went down by the pizza place I used to work at,
and saw that it is now a casino.
After driving I headed over to the McCoy’s 4th of July/Stella’s Birthday BBQ
Party and had fun chillin, and going to the park and swinging on swings - and
while we were at the park, the ice cream man came by, and he had my old favorite
ice cream bar - the chocolate-banana-fudge three-level rocket ship one, so I
had to buy one, and it was delicious. And after the park it was back to the
BBQ party for a big firework show.
We had shot off all except for the last, grand-finale firework when the cops
showed up and busted up the fun, on account of fireworks not being allowed until
the actual 4th (and this was the 3rd).
So then everyone headed home, and my sis and me drove home, and I got these
photos developed, and now I’m heading to bed. G’night all.
